Thanks to Brad and Britt at WZTK FM Talk 101.1 for bringing me on to their morning show. We had a great time, and these guys are super radio professionals. I had not been on the radio before, and they led me through the process of talking about how to buy health insurance on the radio. We took a few calls from listeners and talked about Health Savings Accounts, the crazy things that medical underwriting thinks are important (including acne medication, one of my favorite ridiculous criteria), and how to compare and shop for health insurance whether you’re getting it from your employer or on your own. We also talked about how people in the same family can get health insurance from different sources as part of a good deal strategy.

We got through a pretty serious topic, and did well. I’ve heard from friends and also people that I just met, right after the show, who were listening. Thanks to Brad and Britt and the listeners. We’ll see if we can get a recording of the show online for those of you that missed it.

Next time we might have to spice it up a little bit, and get into something a bit more controversial. Think: “Which of Cinderella’s Ugly Stepsisters Does Your Health Insurer Most Resemble?”
