In a word, no.
As we remember from our school days, the congress must draft the legislation, and the president may sign or veto the legislation, and then the courts will interpret the legislation.
All the talk about which candidate has which national health care package and so on is for naught if the house and senate do not have a plan or even make legislation. Campaign promises and rhetoric will not guarantee any steps forward on this front.
Based on the amount of debate that is going on nationally about what type of national health care plan would make sense, we’re years away from even the first steps toward this goal. If it is even a goal that the people in this county desire.
Considering the confusion, funding, and number of issues with Medicare, a national plan managed by the government may lead to more people being unable to get access to care. Doctors in North Carolina have in some cases stopped taking new patients that have Medicare. In Florida, doctors have dropped Medicare patients from their practices. I think I’d rather have access to care that I can work out the best deal with than to be forced into a situation where I may end up unable to get basic care.
The book Get a Good Deal on Your Health Insurance Without Getting Ripped-Off and website www.BestHealthInsuranceBook.com are non-partisan, and not filled with rhetoric or sad stories. Instead the book and website empower people to shop for and manage their health insurance plan the best they can within the confines of current law and business practice.
While all the debate is going on, real people are having a hard time working through the issues of buying health insurance, and avoiding the rip-offs. I hope that the my book will help people to make the best of the current system, and continue to manage the best that they can as changes come forward in legislation and health insurance products on the market.
