Health Insurance Book Author on Buying Health Insurance and Health Insurance Ripoffs

Bi-weekly installments of Insurance/Risk Management Blogs

December 19th, 2007 by Jonathan Pletzke

The last host of 2007 for the bi-weekly Cavalcade of Risk blog carnival for insurance and risk management is up at American Consumer News.

My pick from this week’s health insurance related postings is Fitting Health Care into the Budget because it made me think about what percent of a household budget should go towards health insurance/health care. We have metrics for how much of the budget should go towards a mortgage (which changed and got some people into hot water, but I digress…), but no clear metrics on how much of a budget we should have towards health insurance and health care. We need these rules of thumb from the perspectives of how much the individual pays, and also how much another party pays, such as an employer. This would certainly help to define what “affordable health insurance” really means.

Check out what folks are saying in this weeks carnival and tune in here on January 2nd for the New Year’s Resolution edition of the Cavalcade of Risk. Submit your blog posting for Cavalcade of Risk #42 via BlogCarnival and we’ll get your New Years Resolution blog postings up here!
