How Much Does Hospitalization Cost?
I wondered and wondered how much certain hospital procedures cost. I couldn't find anything that told me how much a heart procedure cost, or how much cancer cost all in one comprehensive list. Then I stumbled upon some U.S. Government pricing data - that gives the average cost of the top hospital performed procedures in the U.S. What a goldmine! Not only do I know how much things cost, on average, but also how common they are. It really helped me to understand how much the insurance could be worth to me if something bad happened.
Medical Cost by Prinicipal Procedure - shows the total average hospital bill for the main procedure and anything else that came up during the hospital stay.
Medical Cost by Principal Diagnosis - shows the total average hospital bill for the diagnosis, along with the cost for associated procedures and anything else that came up.
Number of Hospital Procedures - gives an idea of how many procedures of this type were performed in U.S. hospitals in the year of the statistics.
Out of Pocket Health Costs - Learn about an external site that will enable you to search for user reported medical cost information.
