The folks are friendly on the hotline, and they can give you a good idea about what to expect from North Carolina's health insurance companies.

Using the links below, you can visit the web page that will get you the best starting point for learning about North Carolina health insurance. You should know that health insurance is somewhat regional, and different insurers work in different parts of the state. The networks that they have are different based on the part of the state. I've found the following general areas within the state:

Charlotte, North Carolina - Health Insurance here encompasses Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas, and there are a number of choices.
Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, North Carolina - Health insurance choices here are also plentiful.
Asheville, North Carolina - Health insurance choices are more limited
Greensboro Triad, North Carolina - Health Insurance choices here can be plentiful, depending on your location within the region - closer to the Triangle or Charlotte will have more options.

Most other parts of the state have some coverage from competing companies. You'll find that most of the health insurance in North Carolina comes from Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.
